Chinese Laser Press Announces New Deputy Editor for Chinese Optics Letters

Chinese Laser Press is pleased to announce that Prof. Feng Chen from Shandong University has been appointed as the new deputy editor of the Chinese Optics Letters (COL).
Feng Chen currently is a Professor at School of Physics, Shandong University, China. He serves as the Dean of School of Physics, Shandong University since January 2013. He also serves as Vice Director of State Key Laboratory of Crystal Materials (SDU). His research interests include fabrication of micro-nanoscale photonic structures, optical waveguides, ion beam modification of nanomaterials, laser writing, plasmonics, lasers, nonlinear optics, etc.
He has more than 300 papers published in peer-reviewed journals. He receives a number of awards and honors from diverse organizations, such as the Ministry of Education, China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Central Government of China, for his contribution on optics and photonics. Feng Chen is a Fellow of Institute of Physics (IOP), UK, a Senior Member of The Optical Society (OSA), USA, and a Senior Member of Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE), USA. He is an active reviewer for more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has given invited talks in about 50 international conferences/workshops. He also serves as an international Project Proposal Reviewer for Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR), and Australian Research Council (ARC).
Remarking on his appointment, Prof. Chen stated, "It is a great honor to be appointed as deputy editor of COL. I will work with the COL team and try to reform and innovate the concept, goal, system, and mechanism of COL. Furthermore, we are trying to increase the attraction of high-level papers, so that more outstanding papers can be published in COL. We also want to enhance the international competitiveness of COL in optical and related research areas".
Chinese Optics Letters (COL) is an international journal aimed at the rapid dissemination of latest, important discoveries and inventions in all branches of optical science and technology. The journal is published by Chinese Laser Press, and sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Optical Society (COS).
